Description

Adrien Schulz painted landscapes of the forest of Fontainebleau, the banks of a river (Loing, Marne) or a pond which he exhibited at the Salon from 1876. His painting was influenced by the Impressionists, while continuing the tradition of Barbizon .
After working stays in the United States, England and Belgium (1886-1889), he devoted himself mainly to painting. Member of the Society of French Artists since 1883, he exhibited at the Salons of 1876, 1881, 1883 and 1903. He was also one of the founders of the Salon d’Automne alongside Félix Vallotton, Albert Lebourg and Eugène Carrière.
